email_image_keyYou know nobody talks about email campaigns anymore and yet I use a professional email service provider to generate over 1000 opt in leads per month. I do it sending cold emails to a list most vendors would consider dead.. Here is exactly how I run it; My messages are always short, sweet, and respectful. I don’t over hype anything and I always stay SPAM compliant.

None of that makes my campaign special but I’ll tell you what does…I make certain to buy a list with name, email address, physical address, and occupation. The emails I send are separated by occupation and sent out so the look personal, ie: “Hi NAME, I’m looking to partner with sharp individuals in the OCCUPATION field and we are looking at CITY this week…”

Right here my prospect feels as if the email was hand sent and that it was written just for them. Notice I also mentioned a time frame. If I didn’t do that then there would be little reason for them to act immediately and I want them to act now.

Visually, I also do something a little different too. I include an image and on the image I’ll have a “play button” so it looks just like a video. Above the image, I’ll write something like this, “I don’t want to take much of your time so if your interested take a look at this video.”

Once they click on the image (you can’t send video in emails…yet) it takes them to my landing page where they can watch my video and decide if they would like to opt in.

But get this…

Since I already have their name, and email addres,s and I want to present the path of least resistance, I’m sure to have that already populated for them so all they have to do is click “submit.”

How about if I told you my opt in rate from visitor to leads was just over 30%?

Hold on to your hat because here’s something else your competition is prolly NOT doing either.

Direct Mail! Take your original mailing list and reference it against your opt in list then pull the physical addresses. Now you have targeted direct mail list. I recommend doing a small test run to insure the accuracy of the list because postage ain’t cheap. Also if you have over 2000 contact a mail house to send them out for you otherwise you end up picking up pennies while dollars fly overhead.. TIP: send it “Bulk Mail” it about half the price of first class.

You might be asking; why go through with all that when I could just send them information about my opportunity.

Because that IS spam, opt in forms with easy unsubscribe links, is essentially permission marketing, and you need to ask their permission FIRST! More importantly, it will be very difficult to build a relationship with them if you don’t begin properly.
